Misc. Info: Born on 1st July 1972, Gyanendra is traditionally trained in Tanjore style of Bharatanatyam Classical Dance under the able tutelage of Padmashri Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan. Through his captivating Bharatanatyam dance recitals, he has enthralled audiences all over India and abroad in countries like Reunion Islands, Mauritius, Madagascar and Kenya. He is the "Graded Artist" from Delhi Doordarshan Kendra (Delhi Television Centre). Various Indian TV channels like Doordarshan, Star Plus, Aaj Tak, Sun TV, Raj TV, ETV etc. have been telecasting his classical dance performances from time to time.
Acknowledging his talent, Government of India has bestowed upon him with National Scholarship in the field of Bharatanatyam. He has choreographed many beautiful Ballets which have been appreciated not only by the masses but also by the critics. Besides being an established classical dancer, he is also engaged in dance teaching since 1991 to preserve, propagate and promote this sacred art form to the next generation. Under his able guidance, his students have won numerous awards and honors at prestigious events and have also been awarded National Scholarship by the Government of India. He Won the most prestigious "Gino-sho" (an award for the excellent techniques in dance) in World Dance Festival '07 held in Tokyo.
Gyanendra is not only member of many Selection Committees and Expert Panels but also Examiner and Paper-setter of various Universities / Colleges. He has two research articles to his credit - "An Aesthetic Vision" and "Teaching Systems in Bharatanatyam"' He has been lecturer in Bharatanatyam at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidhyalaya (University of Art & Music), Khairagarh from Sept, 2000 to January, 2005 and since June, 2005 at Bhatkhande Music Institute, Deemed University, Lucknow (India).
