Misc. Info: I learnt Dhrupada from Dr. Ritwik Sanyal, a dis­ciple of Ustad Zia Farid­dudin and Zia Mohiud­din Dagar. I hold a Master’s de­gree (M. Mus.) in Hindu­stani vocal Music and a Master’s De­gree in Indian Phi­lo­sophy after having stu­died for eight years at the pres­ti­gious Ba­naras Hindu Univer­sity, Varanasi. Presen­tly, I am a se­nior lec­turer in Indian Clas­sical vocal music and the head of the School of Per­for­ming Arts at the Maha­tma Gandhi Insti­tute, Mau­ri­tius. I am also a mem­ber of the Inter­na­tio­nal Society for Music Edu­cation (ISME) and Pan-Afri­can So­ciety for Musical Arts Educa­tion (PASMAE). Besides teach­ing, I per­form Dhru­pada and Khyal, pre­sent papers in con­feren­ces and con­duct work­shops re­gu­larly in Mau­ritius and other coun­tries.
