Kanan, Mrs. Malabika Kanan and Pandit Ajoy Chakra­borty. :Recipient of many grants from the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council and Shastri Indo-Canadian Insti­tute. : Visits India every year to learn and per­form. Gauri per­formed in many pres­tigious conferences and con­certs in various places in India, been inter­viewed in the TV and by the various newspapers. She has eight albums in her credit. : In 1977, she was sent by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Govt. of India, to the Cultural Centre, Guyana, South America, to teach music and propagate Indian culture. She traveled exten­sively in Caribbean Islands for per­formances, interviews and seminars/workshops. In December 2006, Gauri sang in a movie called “The Hindu Tomb” at Lille Festival, France. In July 2007, Gauri taught at the biggest dance and music seminar of Europe. Gauri is a regular tea­cher at the San­geet School in Brussels, Belgium, where she con­ducts work­shops every year.
