e (E) – See also “safed teen). A pitch of the Western scale. Depending upon which octave one is considering, it may have the frequency of: 20.601Hz, 41.203Hz, 82.407Hz, 164.81Hz, 329.63Hz, 659.26Hz, 1318.5Hz, 2637.0Hz, 5274.0Hz, or 10548Hz..
eb (Eb) – E-flat. See “D-sharp”.
e-flat – See “D-sharp”.
edaka – See “idakka”.
ekadadandi veena – A process of making a saraswati veena whereby the neck and resonating bowl are fashioned from a single piece of wood. This is considered the highest quality veena.
ekaki vadan – Instrumental solo.
ekgun – A layakari of 1:1 (i.e., single time). A.K.A. “barabar”. (more info.)

ekhatthu – In tabla, a composition which can be played with a single hand. (more info.)
ektal – A common tal of 12 beats, however, non-standard versions may be found for 3, 4, 5, 7, and even 9 beats. (more info.)

ektar – A simple one-stringed folk instrument. (more info.)
