Description
Sohani (a.k.a. Sohini) is a rag that has been around for quite sometime. It has been noted that four varieties exist (Rao, B.S. 1985), but today only one seems to be common.
Sohani has a very unusual structure. The most common versions have no Pa and a Tivra Ma. This causes musicians to resort to unusual drones in order to accommodate this. The Ga is very prominent.
