Kanan, Mrs. Malabika Kanan and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. :Recipient of many grants from the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council and Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. : Visits India every year to learn and perform. Gauri performed in many prestigious conferences and concerts in various places in India, been interviewed in the TV and by the various newspapers. She has eight albums in her credit. : In 1977, she was sent by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Govt. of India, to the Cultural Centre, Guyana, South America, to teach music and propagate Indian culture. She traveled extensively in Caribbean Islands for performances, interviews and seminars/workshops. In December 2006, Gauri sang in a movie called “The Hindu Tomb” at Lille Festival, France. In July 2007, Gauri taught at the biggest dance and music seminar of Europe. Gauri is a regular teacher at the Sangeet School in Brussels, Belgium, where she conducts workshops every year.
