"sadly, Ustad Vilayat Khan Saheb was booked to perform at Zankel Hall. I remember having a great rush seeing Khan Saheb's picture on the side of a bus in midtown. WMI and Carnegie will instead present a tribute to Khan Saheb featuring Shujaat Saheb and Hidayat Saheb next week, with Vijay Ghate on tabla.
I should also note that a bunch of Khan saheb's old 78 recordings were just re-released on the SaReGaMa label (www.hamaracd.com) last year, most of which were unavailable for many years.
