I just caught Anoushka interviewed on BBC radio. She's promoting a biography she's written about her father.
Apparently it's called 'Love of My Life'.
I haven't checked out Amazon for it yet, but I'm heading over there now.
I'm sorry Russ That you've never read That without Ravi Shankar Indian music as we Know it would Probally not exist . But maybe thats just my View. . . . . .Peace
I'm a Ravi fan from the mid-sixties. Like you say, none of us would probably be here on this forum if it weren't for pioneers like him. And we wouldn't be playing sitar either.
I read his original autobiography (My Music My Life)way back then, and I have that one too, dog-eared and everything. All I meant was simply he already has two biographies out there (along with the more recent Raga Mala). And then we now have 3 videos and DVD biographies to go along with that. Well, whatever. There are a whole bunch of Beatles biographies; I've got two or three of 'em. So if people want to write or film even more Ravi biographies, then fine. But I think I've got enough for now. That's all.
