Sorry Casey, I don't know Benares baj well enough to comment regarding your first question.
And no, I seriously doubt that Kumarji iis reading from his notes.
About the nagma being too loud - I don't believe it was deliberate or maybe someone didn't bother to edit the sound on the original video. The camera mic may actually have been to blame here, not performer or the organizers.
BTW - the sound clips on your web page contain way too much reverb - it really is distracting - much more so than the nagma level on the ITC-SRA clip.
Sincerely,
Aanaddha
P.S - that should be "DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANSWERS TO MY PREVIOUS POST REGARDING KUMAR BOSE'S VIDEO CLIP?:-)?" , not "DOES NOBODY KNOW ANSWERS TO MY PREVIOUS POST REGARDING KUMAR BOSE'S VIDEO CLIP?:-)?"

I can't speak for Aanaddha, but maybe the correction is because that boy's english was wrong.
I can't help but notice a certain deree of implicit arrogance in some of Casey's comments as well as in his website.

why the correction anaaddha?
Dear Jimmy,
I do my best to answer questions as truthfully and as comprehensively as I can especially when I see that no one else has responded. However, sometimes I (and others) may not be inclined to respond to a query if it appears insincere, rude, or if the questioner hasn't taken the time do a simple search or to edit their query for basic spelling and grammar. Sorry, if I'm being petty here, but to get respect sometimes you have to give a little. Our use of language is indicative of our self image and the care with which you choose your words is the same as the care with which you play your bols and the respect you have for the art and all of your endeavors. This is my personal philosophy. It is probably not worth discussing further.
