I know that they arn't in great shape. But i was wondering if someone could give me some suggestions on how to center the rings on the bottom of both of the drums. I would think that i could just loosen the straps as much as possible without taking it apart, and then straightening them, and then tightening it up again. If that isn't a good way to do it, then let me know what is. Should i have them professionally tuned up, and everything? I live about 45 minutes from the ali akbar college of music.

nevermind that really long strap coming off of the tabla, i just had loosened it, cause i need to retune it, but before i went too far, i wanted to take some pictures.
Did you get these tablas from Calcutta or these are calcutta skins?
they look like ordinary quality skins.
the base of this has an iron ring inside i guess.
the only possible way to fix it would be to get it redone. Adjustments can be done though, but will cost you a lot of time and may not stretch properly in the end. get the bottom ring in strap instead of iron ring. otherwise it will always slip.
I'm not sure of the style of my tablas. There were a gift from a friend, because i spent many hours working on his computer. He knew that I wanted Tablas, so he bought these. So, I should get new straps all together? Or just replace the ring?
