I know we had this discussion before but now I am worried. My teacher has just started me on this with Dhe played as Ge plus the fatty side of thumb and Re as the fatty side of the little finger. I have seen other players and comments on this forum as Dhe being played the opposite way, that is, Dhe played with the fatty side of the little finger which is the method I tend to agree and like, but how can I say that to my teacher?
Is there a right or a wrong way. I fear that if I do it both ways I might be causing more problems for myself.
Comments appreciated.
Dhe starts on the fatty side of the little finger as you put it . At least according to Allah Rakha, Jnan Ghosh, Zakir and Anindo .
But as long as you know that you can still play it the other way as we do when playing ge re dhere dhere , we play ge then use that fat side of the thumb . Better not to argue but to realize that when you see the bol written some where it will be played the other way.
