I'm having an unusual problem with the edge of my chat: it has turned upward all the way around the bayan. I've been told it is from humidity, not from humidity, too dry, it got wet, etc. It's a cold, dry winter here in Connecticut, so I don't think humidity is an issue. I don't keep it near a heater or anything. It's ripping apart my wrist, but I don't want to stop playing. What can I do??? Thanks.
I had same problem on dholak and tabla. .i put bostick on thin piece of card and slid it between skins ,remove card apply pressure until dry. .beter than wrist scatching, wont affect sound. .can be similiar glue. .not superglue or areldite. .try uhu glue if not bostick
As i am not very familiar with English - what actually is bostick. I have same problem here with my bayan. Can I use PVA glue? We have here very bad weather conditios for tablas in Estonia. Today it was 2 degrees below zero in the morning and about three hours later it was already 17 degrees above zero and right now it is raining.
