I live in Austrailia and im expirancing 40 degree Celcius temperatures at the moment. My Bayan's metal is expanding and therefore tightening the skin. When the temperature drops it goes back to normal pitch. . . .but i wanted to know if there is anything to do about it or if its really bad for the Tabla. Cheers. .Jez.
The straps that pass over the gajara come down over the pital in pairs of two, if the two parts of the strap are spread far apart then you can pull them close together with your hands and that loosens the pressure they put on the head, same with the pitch of the bayan being to low, you can pull the straps apart as far as they will go. This has some effect on the tightness and pitch of the head, give it a try for minor relief to your head. Happy holidays
