Hi, i was just filling out my diary, trying to sort out my dates for my performances, and i thought to myself 'everybody has talking about learning and playing instruments, but nobody has talked about performing'. if anybody does perform, what sized venues are they, and how many people usually attend? wat style of music is it that u play?

I do perform. I have a somewhat long history of performing. Well for a 16 year old. First off I played acoustic guitar for performances at my church, that was when i was about 12. In 4th and 5th grade a friend and I were street performers at the fair. When I was in 7th grade I played in a band and we performed many times at school and churches. Last year I was in a classic rock band, we played Hendrix covers and Cream covers and played some originals. we played a fairly big party, maybe 100 watched us. and a few other shows about that size. This year I have been in a fusion band. We play jazz at resturants for money. We play our own music, sort of rock jazz jam flamenco, at partys and shows at parks we get invited too. Our last show was at a park and about 100 people were there. I know 100 may not sound that big, but for my city and my age it seems like alot. A few days ago we signed a contract with another resturant to play regularly.
In music conservatory in NYC i won a concerto competition to play a solo with the orchestra on stage. I worked for 2 years to learn and memorize this piece, Hindemith- Der Schwanendreher. It's a really big piece for viola and i was into doing something big so i made it like an obsession to work this thing out. i wasn't a great player by any means but had so much desire i did it with just young energy, but the bottom line was i got to rehearse with the big orchestra and then play on stage in front of 2000 people. It was a dream i had to walk out on stage with just the viola in the left hand and the bow in the right. An orchetra behind and a big audience in front, play the piece. it was a total thrill. . . .

We've played a number of festivals (the largest probably being The Lizard festival 2 years ago during the eclipse week). We're playing at Greenbelt (a Christian arts festival) at the end of this month and we're on the second stage so we should get quite a good audience (500+).
I'm running my tabla's through a mixer and running various effects on them (including a great Auto-Wah setting) which lets me get a bit more Techno with the whole thing. The set should be really interesting and push our boundaries of what we've done live quite a way. I'm really looking forward to trying out some of the new material on a live crowd.
WOW !!! Louis . . it should sound like the CELESTIAL Gandharvas . . . perhaps you can RECORD some of it and PLAY it to US over YAHOO VOICECHAT . . . Have you got a MICROPHONE ??? . . . JAI JAI SRI SRI TABLA !!!
We should be recording the whole thing and if it comes out okay then at least some of it will be played at various places (we've got a couple of radio shows interested already). Should be a lot of fun.
