Why do honkies think they can be indian?

I really think that the honkies need to just mind their own business. Nothing against them, because I am friends with lots of them. They can be as interested as they want, but they need to recognize that even though indian (asian) culture is rich and superior to that of white, they cannot try to cross over.
ignorance
Re:honkies Jul 20, 2001 10:44 p.m.

Be careful about ignorance. We must love all peoples, despite their skin color. If they like indian culture, their study of it will help to broaden their minds. I mean, do not blame them just because they realize how boring their own culture is. They can never take an indian's stillo anywayz (:

All I have to say is, wut the f*ck is this white boy doing playing indian music and marrying an indian beauty? He must have a few issues if he turns his back on his own culture like that.

I wasn't gonna reply to this topic, but after reading it about 5 times, i thought 'god damn, some of u are fucked in the head!' some1 said 'wat the fucks this white boy doing playing indian music and marrying and indian beauty'. i swear man, ur one sad man. some asain people think that white people are rascist, but now, i'm really ashamed of some fellow asains. i'm only 14, but i feel very strongly about rascism, and seriously dont appreciate wat u have just said. i'm seriously sorry 4 swearing, but u fucked up peps need to sort ur heads out, and get back to reality. u should be happy that different cultures are interacting, and different people are getting into different types of music! its like somebody saying, 'why is an asain person doing playing blues, or rock, or rapping'. think about guyz. and lets keep comments like that to urselves!

The truth is, that things like this are said out of insecurity and lack of understanding. people can make whatever decisions they want in life. it is not up to us to judge them based on superficials. can't we all just get along? oh, and kids know less than they think they do but can have insight in certain situations because of their simple understanding of life.

On behalf of all the messages post on this board (which, if you look closely at the times, you will see that it seems only one or two people have posted these messages), I apologize. I am an Indian, born and for the most part raised in the US, and was actually born in Houston. I fully support anyone, of any color, to learn whatever they want to learn, dress however they want to dress. I urge the webmaster of this site to delete this topic altogether. once again, on behalf of all Indians with sense, I apologize for any postings on this topic.

On every kind of board and the discussion groups there are always trolls who come in and love to drop these kinds of bombs. They just want to argue and cause trouble, as it is so easy to do and get big reactions. Many boards have become private now with passwords required and you don't even know they exist. in the discussion groups at first i was so excited to see every kind of subject but quickly found they were just full of bunches of egos arguing nonstop and just reading that stuff gave me such a headache it wasn't worth going there any more. It's so easy to come off as a jerk online and one nasty word or thought here brings the worst. we're all musicians here and share a common love for Indian music and instruments. Let's just keep on with the good stuff and let the other go away. . . . .
