I recently came across a site (http://www.geocities.com/scaleopia/7notes.html) listing 7 tone scales. Many of them have hindu names. I'd really like to know if these are the correct hindu names for the scales (considering the contextual elements of scale theory varying from East to West) And if there is a translation from the sanskrit? as to what the names mean. I'd like to aquire a book describing the 72 South Indian scales in detail with names and meanings. Any ideas???
