I want to apologize for this question in advance - I know it is kind of silly but - I have a friend who plays the guitar and wants me to learn the sitar part to the beatles song Norwegian Wood so we can play it together - can anyone help me out?:-)

It's not all that hard. . . . . . .just listen to it alot, and then start out slow, you'll be cranking it out in no time flat!

I keep wanting to play Blue Jay Way instead of my exercises cuz the kalyan thaat reminds me of it! (so I do! ha!)

see you around like a ferris wheel!

Hey rg,
I posted the complete sargam for NWood on this board about two years ago or so. You might check out the threads I posted back then for, at least my take on it. .uncle ken

There's a bit more to the tune than just this "signature" phrase but with the ol' ear to the track you'll pick up the rest. . .uncle ken

Bruce, I think you're right. I tried it out and it works better with the altered notes.

I know that the song is played in E - actually out of a D chord capoed up a step on the guitar. How would you tune the sitar to accommodate this?

I believe Guitar Player magazine had all the parts written out in an issue that appeared two or three years ago.
