Announcement/warning to friends, customers and other music dealers
Nov 14, 2003 09:28 a.m.
Hi All,
Recently we received a lot of "bounced back" emails from customers that
had our address on them, but had content that included advertisements for Viagra enlarging pills etc. We assumed it was a worm. I hired someone to try to correct the problem and it turns out there was no worm or virus. The problems were the handywork of our former webmaster Anirudh who we let go in favor of someone who could complete our new website on schedule. My software guy hacks for fun and checked logs and stuff that baffles me, and figured out that Anirudh (who had all my passwords) was sending my database to various spammers and creating havoc for my business with bogus emails. We confronted him and threatened to sue. He tried to deny it but I believe he is scared enough that he will discontinue these activities. I apologize to anyone who was inconvienienced by
spam or any weird emails from our address. If anyone recieves further bizaare emails from keshav@keshav-music.com or lallangoti@earthlink.net, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Keshav Das
Come on guys!!!! When I read the thread and looked at the title: Christmas-songs. . . . . . .
I thought Christmas was a positive happy time of the year. . .
Of all the forums I've participated in this one is the closest to my heart. Sure there is some irritation (Beenie. . .you're out there?), but as far as I'm concerned this forum is mild compared to others.
Also, Robert Fripp told us, at the Guitar Craft Course I participated in, that irritation is a nessesity: it shows us we're alive. He even told us if there would be no other participant on that course that would irritate the shit out of us, he himself (Fripp) would be sure to irritate the shit out of us.
This forum has been very, very, VERY helpfull in my growth as a player. Sitarplayer are hard to find, so sharing experience is invaluable for me. Plus it's great to interact with others all over the world.
(you sound like Billy to judge from your style of writing),
There is always someone out there willing to play the "net nanny". The truth is that they generally don't speak for everyone. So don't get too upset if someone is put off by what you post. If you are a beginner to sitar then you belong here, IMHO.

Hi Keshav, You would have my blessings to sue the pants off of Anirudh. I get all of that spam now and can't stop it. Often times I try to remove myself from the lists and it just freezes up my computer. Frustrating. Neal

Hey Neal, try a program called Mailwasher Pro. . .it's very handy. You can delete the spam before it even gets into your mail program, I think there's a 30 day trial.

Hi this looks like a useful program - sadly - us Mac guys can't use it. Mope mope . . . I check my email at the Earthlink website first and and then hit the bouceback button. Lately the program tells me that it's reached it's 500 address limit but it continues to work. What was Earthlink thinking? A 500 address limit? But what can a poor boy do?
