I've been kicking myself for the last couple hours for missing this show, which was last sunday the 21st at the Philosophical research society in los angeles.
I really had no idea there was a show, just happened to see a link in google and alas it was too late. How was the venue, and what did he perform? Were there a lot of people? anyone happen to record this?? I wish there was a better way to publicize these things, like a pollstar.com for indian music. . . sigh.

Man, we missed it :-\ My buddy Mark (maybe he'll post something about the concert) emailed me about it yesterday. He said he found out about it at the last minute. Mark said Parvez was outstanding. The good news is he'll be performing at another house concert on Sunday, Nov. 6.
See you there!!
Man, you guys are lucky. Sitar concerts near me are few and far between. There seems to be alot of vocal concerts though for some reason.

The Shahid Parvez concert was the best. He played
Puriya Kaylan (buy the live cd for an excellent example for his playing), Jhinjhoti, and Bhairavi.
I will post for you the info when I get it about when
he's back in L.A. by the way, they announced that
on his return visit he will also be available for some
private lessons. take care, Mark
