I ordered VK's different strokes and RS' In portrait today from amazon. I got a number of price quotes ranging from $41 to $76 for them. I would find it difficult to pay $76 for a DVD! amazon.ca had some decent prices in CAN$. I am looking forward to receiving them.
I'll have to fight with my wife for dvd time between lord of the rings and VK/RS!
I'm a Tolkein fan from 1972, first time I ever read LTR. I'm waiting for the 3-volume boxed DVD set to come out, probably 'round Christmas. Wow, that's a ton of cash for those DVDs. I think I got my Ravi DVD for about $25, so that would make Vilayat's through the roof. It had better be darn good!
Ya, a bit expensive, but the total for both was $90 CAN, which is not too bad. Before tax it is about $30 US or so each (one of them was more than the other). So, it is pretty close to what you paid. I want to see up close and in good quality video and sound (I hope!). If I am luck, I can pick up a few tricks.
My wife is eager to get the 3 disk LOTRTT as well.

The four-disk Two Towers set will be out November 18th. I'll probably do what I did last year, go ahead and get the DVD that came out this week, then give it to one of my kids when I get the big set. Last year I got the big set on my birthday, shortly after it came out, so with the possibility of getting a DVD, I don't doubt one of the kids will get it for me this year.
Good grief! I had no idea it was that big. Wonder how many volume to the complete set? I guess I'll just hand over my next pay check to the cashier in return for the collection!
Hey, let us know if the Vilayat DVD is any good. Been holding out on buying that, but if its worth it, I'll get it too. Thanks.
