I haven't seen anything about this site posted here - my teacher sent me the link, and it's great! Lots of QuickTime movies, mp3s, photos, even some practice loops! Enjoy!

I should add that it's all in French, but it's pretty self-explanatory. Might be nice to have some translations of some of the articles, though. .

Check out the musical instrument section. Check out those 10 foot tall tambouras and sarangis. And you thought a surbahar would be hard to find a case for!

Hey Stephen;
So you did get a surbahar. I've always been curious about surbahars. How to they compare to sitar in terms of playing style, heft and balance in the hand (and on the foot) and so forth. So as to not "knot-up" this thread, perhaps start a new one.

Matt-trying to find the mp3s. Don't have quicktime installed on my pc. Are they buried in there or somewhere else?

Hi Russ,

Scroll down the page until you see the typewriter graphic on the left. Immediately to the right is the beginning of the mp3 section - first one is a vocal, "Abdul Karim KHAN, Lalit". The rest of the files on the right to the bottom of the page are mp3s - check out the radio shows! You can download QuickTime for free from here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
