I have just tried a set of Pyramid strings and am very impressed with them compared to others. . . . . . .You can get them online from Buckingham and other places. . .
Since you're asking about a local source, John Perkin's company sells sitars,supplies, mp3, etc. He's in Devon, and appears to be quite commercial. He's at john@silver-sitar-co.fsnet.co.uk.
This brings up a subject that I would like to address. I would like a links page to sitar sites that have been picked by players that don't have commercial interests controlling who is on their links page. We have sent web addresses back and forth on this forum on quite a few different subjects and it would seem that a weblinks thread on this forum might fill the bill. I have been searching the internet during my lunch hours for over two years and there is a lot of stuff to sift through in addition to the sitar resteraunts, scaleable architecture and jose sitar/mule trader. I can offer to compile our favorite links if y'all want to send them to me and I could then post them as a thread. I am assuming this would be helpful to all of you and wouldn't be out of line with the forum owner.
