I have tried to find a COMPLETE video of a sitar presentation over the years with no luck. Even tried to video one myself a few years ago, and was soundly scolded to never try that again! Copywrite or public performance legal stuff. . .OK fine. There are plently of "snippets" of Ravi and others around, but complete performances I don't know of. Closest one might be Ravi and Ali Akbar's performance at the "1971 Concert for Bangla Desh" out on video. But even it was not the complete performance! So, good luck.
It is very difficult to find it! I live in Brasil and here there are Raga and Concert for Bangla Desh. I went to India 2 times and I did not find it! I don't know, maybe in England. . in the United States I tried, but nothing.

I don't know about the Usman video, I just ordered it Friday and don't have it yet but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I have a few cassettes of him and he's a good player.

I heard there is a DVD also of Vilayat but haven't seen it.
I have a full concert video of Nikhil Banerjee also. . . . .the picture quality isn't great but it's better than no Nikhil at all. . . . . . .if you want to know about it:

I do have a R.Shankar / A. Rakkha live video. I think it is a BBC recording. They play four ragas (if i remember well. . .). The sound and the image quality are quite acceptable.
I also have a Debu Chaudhary (with his son) video. The image is so so, but the music is great.
And, finally (regarding sitar), i have that Nikhil Banerjee / Zakir Hussain complete Khammaj that Lars talked about. (Lars, what do you meant by elusive??)

I've heard there are BBC videos of Nikhil also but don't know how to get them unfortunately. . . .

I listened to this Usman Khan's Malkauns several times (the CD, not the video) and it is a very helpfull recording : the way that the raga is developped is very easy to follow. Everything is clearly exposed. .and the Rag is one of the most beautifull one. . . congratulations for this nice purchase !!

I think Lars means the video of Nikhil and Zakir is hard to find. In fact, I didn't even know it existed. Nikhil of course is extremely evasive, being that he's been deceased for quite some time. . .
