A few bayan questions May 10, 2004 11:02 p.m.

I'm a new tabla player and new to this fourm
I have a few questions about tuning the bayan.
My bayan has a great resonant sound but the tone is a bit higher in scale
than all the recordings of tabla players I listen to ie: Aloke Dutta, Zakir Hussain etc. Is there a way to tune the bayan? One more question. . I heard a tabla player
play the scales on the bayan how on earth do you do that?
Thanks for your time

Warren:Don't worry about it it will come down as you play it , besides tuning a baya down involves loosening the strap , something you dont want to do .

Warren: This is call Gamak you must press(not slide) the bottom of your palm near the wrist
