Hi all,
I was looking for books where I can find information about solo tabla performance. I would like to know what compostions are played from start to finish solo tabla playing.
Aanaddha, you have once mentioned that you have couple of books on tabla. Could you please share the name of books/CDs you liked?

See:

for an good bibliography.
In my estimation the Gottlieb set is a ''must have" - particularly for tabla solo. That should keep you busy for a while.
David Courtney's and Aloke Dutta's offerings are a constant reference. David's papers, available for download without cost on this website are a surprisingly often overlooked resource for people like you who have both general and specific questions.
James Kippen's book is an enjoyable and informative first-hand narrative but unfortunately out-of-print. However, it an many of the books in this bibliography are available at your local library, your university library, and through inter-library loan programs.
One book ( I'm sure there are many others) that is not included in this bibliography is Martin Clayton's "Time and Indian Music" http://www.open.ac.uk/Arts/music/mclayton/
Although not specifically a 'tabla' book, all of the topics he discusses are relevant to tabla performance and to many of the questions you've asked.
I must emphasize that none of these materials nor all of them together will equal your teacher's first-hand knowledge and guidance. Your efforts there should not be underestimated.
