Is there a "coorect" way to play
Toon Na Kat Ta
David Courtney's book emphapsises the importance to play the
Kat with right hand
and Ta like Tin except harder/forceful
Then I see others playing it differently
Kat with the left hand and Ta as Na(on the chanti). .
Your thoughts on this matter?

It depends of which exercise you are playing. In Tukra Ta and Tin are played different. Ta is played like you mentioned as Tin but harder/more forceful. (also called sur Ta) and Tin is played in the pakhawaj style (open stroke with 4 fingers/sounds like Tun).
I know it is very confusing which way to use, therefore you need a teacher. I recently learned a very old pakhawaj Paran using the bol Ta Ka. Well, you have to say Ta Ka but you have to play it like Kat Ta. Just reverse it, VERY confusing!!
