Hi im 12 years old in California.
Can someone explaine to me the diffrence between DHI an DHIN please.
When I listen to it they sound the same. Thanks in advance.
Dhi and Dhin are the same thing. I believe the 'n' is left off to make it easier to recite at high speeds, as in other instances as well.
As you learn more you will notice many alternate spellings/pronunciations of bols for the same reason (for example, Ke, Ki, Ko, Ka are all the same thing).
Dhi Ga Dhi Na Tirekita Dhi Na
Dha Ge Na Ti Ki Ti Na Na
Ti Ka Ti Na Terekita Dhi Na
Dha Ge NA Dhi Gi Dhi Na Na
This is a Banaras Bant and the Dhi is played Banaras style i.e. on the border of Shyai and Lao + Ge( and Ti without Ge). So as you see, it all depends on compositions, gharanas etc. Only by practice will you come to understand.
What does it mean " Tin( Lav + Kinar of Tabla )" above ? Forgive me my ignorance but what is a Lav?
Your getting a lot of info here so let me try to clean up a little.
Bol notes are not a precise science, although each bol name has what Zakir calls it's proper or common stroke. Bols are also used because they happen to sound closest to what the composition sounds like spoken. So you may say te or you may say re, or ti. Also ta is a vocal substitute for about 8 different bols. There are many composition where the bols aren't played in there most common way and that is confusing to beginners and even advanced students.
Keeping that in mind the common stroke for DHI (which goes back to pakawaj) and is used often in Parans . Is to use the whole right hand all four fingers and strike the middle of the shiyia (gab) with resonance making a tun sounding note. This is most commonly played simultanously with a ghe on bayan.
The common stroke for dhin is to play tin on the sur with a baya ghe.
So probably a better way to ask how a bol is played is to ask "What is the common stroke for the bol Dhi" or to ask "how is the bol dhi played in the composition ---" Because by knowing the composition type you are playing we can determine how that bol is supposed to be played. Example: Most kaidas end with dhin na or dhin na gena , this dhin is almost always played as tun + ga.
I hope I did not confuse

Many tanks for all your comments.
I have just 3 months learning to Play Tablas without any personal help or documents. I just working with few videos from interners and of course with your helps throw this forum .
DHI is a non resonant composite bol that is produced using both hands.
Technique: Play 'Ge' and 'TE' together at the same time. Play 'Ge' on the Bayan with the middle finger of your left hand. Simultaneously, play 'Te' with the middle finger of the right hand, the cushion of the finger hitting the center of the syahi(the black round area).
DHIN is a resonant composite bol that is produced using both hands.
Technique: Technique: Play 'Ge' and 'Tin' together at the same time.Play 'Ge' on the Bayan with the middle finger of your left hand. simultaneously, play 'Tin' with the index finger of the right hand, by hitting the area where the syahi and maidan join. You take the support of the ring fiinger of the right hand which rests outside the black circle, and you snap your wrist in a swift movement which results in your index fingir hitting the left edge of the black circle and bouncing off immediately.
