Dhi and Ti on the dayan is the tight, sharp stroke on the region where the chat ends and leaves the maidan exposed.
In the first half, the bayan should create a sensation of bringing the bass downwards in pitch. The Dhi should be tight and the following Dhin should change the modulation lower from the resonance created in the first Dhi. Basically, Dhin should be played such that the bayan sounds naturally quieter than the first Dhi except lower in pitch and there should be no increase in volume. The Dha should then be a normal open Ga that's louder than the previous Dhi.
The khali should be played with the first of the two Dha's a normal Ga that sounds the same as the one played on the third stroke. The last Dha should be a small re-modulation stroke that just brings the baya up a little higher in pitch before we go back to the first beat in the next cycle. This stroke should be a little lower than the Dhi that we start the composition with.
It's really hard to explain the bayan without showing explicitly what I'm trying to describe. Anyways, hopefully I've provided some insight.
