I don't know which one you are talking about but this is the one I used to play for old kind of train (steam engine)(not practicing any more :-))
it is keketete keketete
1st keke is played as usual on the bayan and tete is normal TeTa.
hear is the trick. When you play second keketete play keke same as 1st except pull your hand invered(towards you so your finger portion hit shyhi(gab) portaion on the bayan.
Go fast it will sound like train.
if you have confusion tell me I will try to explain batter.
Thank you Swara, thank you Bhavesh! I will give your compositions a try. I vaguely remember Warren mentioning a locomotive sound rela from Zakir. Am I right or just dreaming it up, Warren?
This is a very old composition but Zakir tells a big story about it and that it was composed around 1912 when the train came in to town.
The maharaj asked the court tabla player to create a composition in honor of the train and so by this story this was the first Rela,Zakir plays the Tuna phrase last and makes it sounds like the whistle, The taka terekitataka phrase, play the tak with the1st finger on the center of the gab .
Zakir starts it slow, plays it single , double, quadruple speed then slows it down like a train stopping and then makes a sliding sound on the baya like steam shhh shhh shhh shhh.
Dha teri, kitaka, Dha teri, kitaka, Dha teri, kitaka, Dha teri, kitaka
Taka terikitataka Taka terikitataka Taka terikitataka Taka terikitataka
Dhe re Dhe re kitataka Dhe re Dhe re kitataka Dhe re Dhe re kitataka Dhe re Dhe re kitataka
Tun na kitataka Tun na kitataka Tun na kitataka Tun na kitataka
