Now that's the right city for Tabla beat science and Bill Laswell has some great stuff.
I you ever want to try out doing some sampling, you can use a software program called Acid.
I have posted a number of Tabla beat Science inspired compositions on mp3 at the Acid Planet website.

I would love to hear if anyone else has tried creating some music with this software , it's a lot of fun with tablas, many of mine contain Bill Laswell loops

Hi warren,
glad to hear that someone else is into recording tabla et al, would love to do some stuff together (either on acid, cubase or any other medium). Have you tried Swar Shala? it's the biz, see. .web site under same name, indian site based in switzerland!!
What about you letting me have an address for you, I provide a loop in acid or whatever, you add to it and send acid zip file back to me, or another sample/loop and we build from there ad infinitum?:-)?
i'm just about to check out your mp3's on acid planet.
I just got into Tabla Beat Science : i'm speechless. What got me interested in tablas is that it appeared to blend well with contemporary ( Electro/world/ect) music while still being very distinctive and strong.
They played in Montreal at the Jazz Festival last year. Just be patient. . they'll probably be back this year, or the year after. In any case, Zakir is usually in Montreal once a year for something, be it with Shakti, Shankar (electric violin), or Tabla Beat Science. . .

I think this year's Montreal Jazz fest is gonna cost me much $$$ !!! :D:D I'm truly looking forward on buying a couple of tickets as soon as the dates are out ! ( Who knows, maybe i could thus be in the first rows for Zakir and/or herbie !!)
It's too bad i wasn't there for last year's festival :s !
Thanks Julie!
Please feel free to copy my MP3's and distribute .
It must be great studying with Ritesh.
He has also inspired me . Maybe you could play some of my stuff for him.
