i was wondering does anyone transcibe tabla off recordings? (i.e. without hearing a recitation) there are so many compositions i would love to learn but when i transcibe them i'm sure that some of my bols are wrong.
any advice?

Sometimes i do it also, but be carefull, you already have to know well a lot of bols for to be able of identify the bol you are listening, and you have to know also the style of the tabla player you are listening. Thus if you listen GeTeteGe in a rela, for example, your tabla experience will tell you that the bol is Gerenaga.
