Hey all, I'm a beginner to indian music, can anyone give me any advice on what sort of beat a tabla plays or any recommended website I can visit?

Well my friend , if you look in "the tabla site" they have all different "tallas" (rythems) how to play the different "bols" ((notes) etc.

Hi ya Happy! Hmmmm? Asking what sort of beat a tabla plays is like asking what language a human speaks. A whole bunch of them! Actually, you're posting on a good website. Take some time and read through David's theka sections. He has good info throughout here.
