Hi

I have been recently to India/Varanasi for a month and was lucky enough to meet someone who is a great tabla player in Varanasi. He teaches tabla at the Hindu Benaras University and I would like you guys to know about him. If you are thinking to go to Varanasi to learn tabla you must contact him.

He is very a very good teacher and I mean it.
it cost me 200 rupees p/hour but was worth it.

while in India I bought lods of tabla tapes/cds and there is one in particular that I would like to share with you(apart from pt Anindo Chaterjee's drums of India). it is called:

Dharohar
Rashid Mustafa Thirakwa
a disiple of Jaan Ahamed Thirakwa
Beautiful palying with a great/beautiful combination of harmonium and sarangi

one more thing. This is a variation for the kayda
