Tabls are the spine of Indian classical music. They go very well in any music that is melody based (indian) rather than in harmony based music (western). They are the rythm section of Sikh worship music as well as they accompany a harmonium (a pump organ). The variety of strokes and rythms are endless and throughout india have served well alongside every type of Indian music. One of their strongest features is their ability to emit a great variety of sounds from just two drums and their great use in matching the tempo and emotion of the other instruments.

When and where are tablas played and what role do they take in that case?
I mean an opportunity for tablas.
