Misc. Info: Jyoti Mathur maintains a private Music Studio, "Ragini" in West Lafayette and is giving sitar lessons since the spring of 2002. Jyoti has learnt Sitar from Shri N.G. Kelkar of Gwalior gharana. She performs as a soloist and in small ensembles. Jyoti is an active member of, and has performed for several musical groups in town. She has conducted a workshop on "Melody and Rhythm of Indian Music" for the members of Junior Musicale. Jyoti has also performed in non traditional experimental compositions such as a sitar & piano duet "Theme and variations" (based on Mozart's first movement of Piano Sonata K33); a Sitar, Piano, Tabla trio based on raga Shivaranjini. When she is not involved in music Jyoti Mathur is the Educational Programs Coordinator of computational interdisciplinary graduate programs in Computing Research Institute at Purdue University.

She presented her first student in her Arangetram (debut dance repertoire) in June 2006. Students of her dance school have been performing at various cultural and diversity events in the local community.
