Bharati Chokshi: Indian Sitarist
Bharati Chokshi started learning sitar, a long necked lute, at an early age. Her first teacher was Sri Ramchandra Khare of Bharatiya Sangeet Vidyalaya of Ahmedabad, India. Later she refined her skills under the great Srimati Manju Mehta of Jaipur Gharana at the Darpan Akademi in Ahamedabad. She has performed extensively on stage and radio both in India and the United States. She is presently teaching and performing in the Miami area.
