Hey so I listened to your recording remco and I tell you I like it. Lately Ive been hearing souyndscape recordings like Godspeed you black emperor and all the side projects. today I discovered a side project of a few of the members called the Shalabi Effect, it has tabla! its blew me away really. I enjoy it alot. Anyway about your recordings id like to know your process in making the loops and playing the chapman stick. Do you play live ever? Do you sell alot of your albums?

Just started my record company and am waiting for the testprints of the albumcover actually!! Yep I've played live (the loopconcerts) and my set up is rather simple: I use a Chapman GrandStick outfitted with a sustainerunit (for infinite sustain). From the Stick: the melody-side into a Digitech 2101 into the 'Plex (no tapes by the way, it's digital) into a Lexicon MPX1. The Bass side into a Yamaha FX 500B (just for compression). Also look at the linkspage for the link to Crossfate: I've spent a page on the gear I use and the ideas behind it (this is more a popproject)

Hey, if I'm right, the Shalabi Effect is from Montreal (where I am located). Who plays tabla on that recording?

Will Eizlini is the one I belive plays tabla and other percussion with Shalabi Effect, and yes they are from Montreal. You are very lucky to live there, you have alot of great bands playing and recording there. You should check out all the music you can, I know I would If i were in your place.

Yeah, Montreal is great. I'm pretty involved with the local music community; well, I'm a part of it. There's really a lot going on all the time, which is great. Unfortunately, not too much Indian classical music though. Lots of experiemental stuff, rock, pop, techno in general. .

Where are you located?

Im located south of you in Tulsa Oklahoma. . quite a ways off. There is not much of a diverse scene here right now. But we get a few great bands coming by and a few from Tulsa. But not much experimentation, not anything like Montreal, just looking at the Constellation and Alien8 record websites, every band on them offers something I want to hear.
