Whats the difference in these two titles. At first I thought it was tabla players with Ustad as their master titles, but then I saw a bunch of tabla players with the title Pandit, along with alot of other guys like Ravi Shankar and ShrivKumar Sharma?

Something else to keep in mind. These titles are given by general consensus of the people, and acknowledged by either one's guru, university staff, or a government. You can not give yourself that title! There are some musicians I have noted who do so, and they that is not right.
