I am relatively new to learning the sitar. I would like to know if there is somewhere I can find precomposed pieces (tans, etc) in various ragas.
If there is an online database of sitar compositions it would be super. Or maybe a book in print. I have searched extensively, but haven't found anything except a couple of mundane exercises.

there are a number of books available, the "my sitar" book has a bunch of sargams, have a look at some of Lars' books for titles and names. I would get a teacher so that you start off right, IMHO. Sargams are one thing but knowing the timing and the sound of them is another.
