pickup cable for chromatic tuner, great thing! Aug 27, 2003 03:34 p.m.

Hi,
I picked up a pickup cable for my chromatic tuner (with clip) and it has made a huge difference. It works very well and really speeds up tune up time when I go to class (time + class = $) The bronze strings are really hard to tune with the tuner sometimes because of all the extra resonance. With the pickup cable, it really minimizes it. Tuning all main strings and tarabs takes less than 5 min. Of course I had to re intonate my parda, but now they sound good. Such a small thing for $10 CAN, damn that's good.

Hey Pb, Whats the brand name and where did ya get it? Does it have 1/4 inch ends? Will it work on a Sabine tuner?
Also has anyone tried those transducer pickups offered at sitaretc,, and other places?
Hows the sound plugged into an amp or PA system?

Hey Jeff,
I have a matrix one with the clip. I just clip it on the main bridge. I had a local store order it, st john's music. The cost in CA $ is the same as US$ so I always try to get music things in canada. It is a 1/4 inch plug, should work with any chromatic tuner that takes that size. Mine is a seiko tuner. I was thinking about getting the sabine MT9000, great feature set. St. John's doesn't know about it.
