On the subject of older sitars, I would like to offer up a nice website, http://servsim.cite-musique.fr/museedelamusique/ This site is in French but search for "vina" and you will be taken to many photos of very old sitars, rudra veenas, taus, etc. My French is a bit rusty (and I lived outside of Marseilles for a year) so didn't make much sense out of the "catalog speak" that captions the photos, but some nice examples of early instruments to be seen here. If you know of other sites that have collections of photos of antique ICM instruments, please post the link on this thread.
