Last night the BBC showed a 1-hour special entitled 'Ravi Shankar - Between Two Worlds' a documentary on Ravi at 80.
I stumbled across it by sheer good fortune but managed to throw a tape in the machine and record it.
Naturally there was a little less on the music than I would have liked, but it was a fascinating and beautiful programme looking back over his life and what he's up to today, with much new interview footage.
I'd be happy to share the tape with anyone, but I'd need some technical assistance. It's obviously in European VHS format (PAL?), and I have no means to convert it. But if you want to have a go over in the USA, you'r every welcome.

Hi Jerry;
Went surfing and found a good bit of info on the BBC4 website on Ravi and Anoushka. Good starting place talking about the film you mentioned is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/jazz/. Kind of odd to see this as a jazz page!
Although Ravi is 82 and some of the stuff is a little dated, its still a good read. Thanks Jerry.
