Hey all, hows it going? anyway, would anyone here know of a place in alberta, canada (preferably calgary) where sitar stings can be purchased, and what a fair price to pay for them would be? any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, well. . .you can get them online through the various stores. Buckingham music for one, etc. They're all priced about the same. If you want bulk strings, it costs much less. .you can get them at www.fortepiano.com
Have fun!!

Thanks lars! amazingly enough, my friend actually found a store in calgary that has sitar strings!!! :-) he found them at Long & McQuade, for $10 a set! They have quite a few stores across canada, so id imagine canadians could get them there, or at least through them. i think they have, or can get sitars there too. im not sure what quality they are though, but they are a very reputable store, and they dont sell crap. I bought a set of tablas there, for a very fair price, and im impressed with the quality.

Well, glad you found some. . . I've heard of that chain of stores, I think they sell keyboards, etc. as well. . . be careful when buying a sitar there though, better to go through a place that specializes in them. Check out that bulk string link too when you get time as it'll cost you much less and it's top quality string.
