For Bhajans or light songs do you play same Theka's for the whole song, or theka's and some other variation
e.g. for 8 beat Bhajan would you play
Dha Gi Na Ti Na K Dhin Na
through out the song. .
you can play variations on Bhajans as well. However the bhajans and ghazals have different thekas. sometimes ghazal thekas can be played in bhajans but not vice-versa.
Dha ge na ti na ke dhi na
is the typical and traditional bol of keherwa. this is hardly used by professionals.
bhajans typical bol is:
Dhin ta dhin dhindha-ti
tin ta tin dhindha-ti
most of the tabla players play this differently. therefore this theka does not have any fixed bols.(Bhajan)
What is difference in gazal playing and bhajan playing besides taal been played.specially when singer stops singing and music takes over.e.g dugun or laggi or other variations can be played .
