Hi,

Can you please tell me what are the best mics to use for live performances, and how to position mics?

Thanks,

Best regards,

Ariana,

Any mic that is recommended for voice is good for tabla too. You will find that most people recommend SM 57 and SM 58. They are excellent.

I have also used PVM 80 and PVM 45i and found them to be excellent. Both are essentially 'warm'. You need to adjust the Mid frequency and High frequency levels on the mixer.

The size of the speaker also plays an important role. 15" and 18" speakers capture the beauty of the 'Bayan' the base drum of the tabla.

Good luck.
