How do Banares players play the bol TAKA.

I usualy play the TA with my index finger either on chat or sihai. I heard they play all four fingers for TA (a slap)

Hi,

As always, it depends on the composition. Here are the possibilities:

- like NA, either on the chanti or the lao

- like TETE, on the syahi

- or, the full hand stroke on the syahi, as you mention.

Is there a specific composition that you're wondering about?

Its just a short practice rela.

Dha tirakita tika TAKA tira kita tika
kali. .

I find that playing 4 fingers for TA is difficult can you use 3 fingers leaving the index finger free?

Hi,

Do you mean Dha-TiRaKiTaTaKa TaKaTiRaKiTaTaKa?

TaKa in this case can either be played with the first finger, or the 3 other fingers grouped together. I play it most often with the first finger, but eventually, it's good to be able to play it both ways.

It's not played with all 4 in this situation.
