At last, but how do I learn ? Aug 26, 2003 02:55 a.m.

Hello all, I have just been presented with my first set of Tablas, I am 48 and live in the country a long way from any schooling possibilities, can anybody recommend a video course of something to get started on ?

I have found that Aloke Dutta's video Tabla Techniques is very helpful. His book Tabla, lessons and practice is also a very good resource for the beginner.

If you look about three inches to the left of this posting, you will see a red advertisement for The Tabla: a book and video, which comes from Europe! Ooh that was hard!
