Camp will begin at 10 AM on the Friday and will end with at 6 PM on the Sunday August 3rd that will be followed by a collaborative dinner.
Beautiful IYH Ranch Hostel at Vashon Island, WA
This is a special opportunity to intensively study Indian Tabla drumming in a very unique and personal setting.
Come experience complex rhythms, Tabla compositions from various Gharanas and much more with a Tabla virtuoso om New Delhi, India.
Camp will involve learning with Vishal (spending full days talking about and playing tabla) practicing in long sessions with fellow Tabla players/students and also watching videos and discussing various aspects of playing and performances.
In response to feedback from last years participants, students will set up their own tents on the Hostel grounds at no extra cost. This will afford everyone a bit more privacy and helps
keep costs down as well.
Note: A well equipped Kitchen will be available for cooking along with a common refrigerator.
$250, (including Hostel usage fees)
Optional Meal Plan:
Catered vegetarian meals (8 meals in 3 days of Camp) will be provided for an additional $80, by Gusto Girls Catering. We highly recommend that you choose this
option, as it will enable us to remain focused on practice and learning
avoiding long forays into Vashon town.
If you would like to be part of this tradition please send a 50%
Deposit, i.e. $125 and the full payment for the food $80 to:
