Well, I ordered 2 pudies (Heads) last year from Prafulla and they were excellent. I have since ordered more. Also Prafulla being a diciple of Zakirji, and a professional player he surely must know about quality, tone, size etc. (which he does)

Recently 2 of my students purchased tablas from Prafulla, they are Sadanand which is a very reputable brand and very good tablas for a reasonable price.

I ordered a set with a spare dayan from him. Just got the goods now. Well worth their weight in gold. (And they are HEAVY). Absolutely amazing sound quality.
As an aside, he ships them through FedEx. The tabla came BOMBAY-PARIS-NEWARK-OTTAWA but the spare took the scenic route BOMBAY-PARIS-NEWARK-MEMPHIS-CHEEKTOWAGA-OTTAWA. Quite neat to actually be able to track the journey in real-time. It was quite possibly the dead goat's last wish to be able to spend a night in Paris and watch the sun rise in Cheektowaga. May its soul rest in peace, I know its skin won't.

Just out of curiosity; how much does it cost for a set including shipping to Canada?

I have ordered a number of tablas from Prafulla for myself and friends through a third party. All have been of the highest quality . I highly recomend his business.

I bought Tabla and Harmonium from Prafulla. I am completely satisfied with the quality of instruments. In fact I got a chance to meet him when I visited India. He is an amazing tabla player himself. He was kind enough to play for us when he came to deliver the instruments
