My best advice would be, if you can't find a teacher anywhere, to go to India and learn intensively even if just for two weeks. I did for a month when I started and that is the main reason why I am still playing now. It can be very frustrating in the beginning when you can't afford a teacher even once a week. So, if you can go go.
Learning from books will never be ideal(not in the beginning at least). A good video will defenetely help but nothing can replace a good teacher. Even if you see him only once a month, he will be the one who will really inspire you and correct your faults.
